What Is the "APLC Survival Guide?"

Some of you may be asking yourself a few questions, the most important of which being, "What is this so-called 'APLC Survival Guide?'"

First off, a better question could be, "What is APLC?" Well, APLC is both the acronym of and the quickest way to type "Advanced Placement Language and Composition [often stylized as 'Language & Composition']."

Now then. AP Language & Composition can be a pretty terrifying-sounding course. It doesn't just sound like one; it is. It might even be the most terrifying course of your high school career. Especially if you have absolutely no idea what you're getting into. This Survival Guide is an attempt to mentally and physically prepare you for the grueling, intense battleground of the Advanced Placement English classroom.

About the Author

Sure, there's a little widget that gives you some kind of idea, but I purposely left it pretty vague. Just 'cause I wanted to see if anyone would even bother going to this page.

Clever, right?

Eh, I  guess not, in a sense. Alright. Let's be professional-like now.

I'm a student from the beautiful (and bipolar weather-filled) state of Virginia. Northern Virginia, to be exact. There's a very large difference between north and south Virginia, thank you very much. I started this blog due to a project for my English course. Whether or not I continue with it, after the course is over, is up to debate.

AP Language and Composition is an English course that I consider the bane of my existence--not because of my teacher, or anything, mind you, but because of how utterly time-consuming it can be. Especially if one is completely unprepared for and uninitiated into the world of college-level English material. The expectations are suddenly way higher, and students find themselves in over their heads rather quickly.

Be that as it may, I really hope that my little self-derogatory blog can help at least one person. If it does that, I can consider this a job well done, regardless of the grade I receive for my English class.
